Information for Students

Student Voice

The voices of students are important to us. The student body elects two representatives from each year group, serving as the voice of their cohort. As a student representative, you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between the student body and the faculty, ensuring effective communication and consideration of student perspectives.

The representatives are tasked with conveying feedback directly to the staff during the Student Engagement Committee meetings. This direct line of communication fosters constructive discussions and collaborative solutions, contributing to the continual improvement of the student experience at the College.

Student Association

In addition, the student association plays an important role in creating a wide range of social activities for the student body as a whole. These events provide great opportunities for networking, creating social connections, and forging lasting memories during your time at the College.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

At the McTimoney College, we prioritise the mental health and wellbeing of our students as we understand the challenges and pressures that academic life can bring. Our dedicated support services and counselling resources are available to provide guidance and assistance when you need it. Whether you need assistance with coursework, career advice, or research guidance, our approachable staff are here to support you every step of the way.

Student Equipment

Throughout your journey at the College, students are expected to have the facility and the ability to study in their own home and will be required to purchase certain equipment and textbooks throughout the duration of the programme. These requirements are outlined in the programme details within their relevant web pages.

While tablets may seem convenient, many students encounter limitations that prompt them to favour the versatility and functionality of laptops. We strongly recommend that students use a laptop throughout their studies. Additionally, access to the internet is compulsory, as it becomes progressively an essential tool to facilitate learning.

To help you thrive in your studies, the College provides access to equipment and resources essential for practical learning. You can find out more on our Education Technology page.
